When and how did you become a couple?
I returned to my hometown of Chicago after grad school at the age of 29. Four years later I was still single, and my mother was starting to get worried that I would never give her any grandchildren. So she arranged with a friend of hers (who had a divorced sister) to off-handedly invite us both over to a party at her house. Being too naive to recognize what was afoot, I agreed to come. When we walked into her house, there were the other members of her family, sitting around the room, with only one empty chair in the room, by the purest chance positioned next to a young lady who just happened to be our hostess's available sister. The rest, as they say, is history - 42 years of history.
Why you are the “Most Romantic Senior Couple”?
After all these years, we still take care of each other and love each other very much. I am so thankful that my mother interfered, because I can't imagine my life without her. Rate this Story:
